Africa Style is part of the House of Wonders group.

House of Wonders was founded in 1994 by a group of friends with a love of travel and a passion for beautiful architecture.
The idea was to restore historic buildings in exotic destinations and use the houses for holiday rentals.
A passion for Africa has led to the expansion of the Company and the development of Africa Style, a simple way of booking holidays in Sout-East Africa for those wishing to travel in style.

We are VISA/MASTERCARD accredited and are a fully licenced travel Company with our representatives in Malawi, Zambia, Tanzania and Uganda where we own several historic houses and are parners in Chapwani Private Island (Zanzibar).

House of Wonders never recommends a Lodge or a location that has not been visited by a member of the Company and both our multi-lingual staff in Europe and our local representatives pride themselves in their local knowledge.

Nigel V. Brown
Chairman
He is supposed to be the business brain behind the Company.
Born in England, Nigel, has lived all over the world and is the only person we know who can draw a map of Africa on the back of an envelope with every border, country and capital in its right place.
Nigel is English and speaks French, German and Italian.

Francoise Pilois-Brown
Managing Director
Born and raised in France, she has been living in Bologna (on and off) for just over 15 years. Since receiving a degree in Hotel Management, Tourism and foreign languages, she has travelled and worked around the world, mostly in the travel business. Her passion is for primates and she is the volunteer representative for Southern Europe of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. Don't ask for Francoise...everybody knows her as "Pilou". Pilou is French and speaks English and Italian.

Reservation Office Manager
Born and raised in Bologna. Monica has a Doctorate in Statistics (University of Bologna), but prefers travel to numbers !
Just married. Monica has been working in the Company for four years and is in charge of the reservation office but supervises the accounts too. She is really well travelled and has visited most of our locations and she knows all the accommodation really well. Monica is Italian and speaks English and good French

...is our Spanish perfectionist ! She is currently translating all the bits missing in Spanish on the website and is dreaming about visiting those beautiful places around the world. Rebecca is the daughter of the owner of Villa Erca, Amalfi Coast (on our site), and is in Bologna to finish her studies at the University.
She joined the team last September 2002.
Rebecca is Italian and speaks Spanish with good English.

Our local representative
Giuseppe who follows our safari programme, is a second generation Malawian, of Italian origin. His family is steeped in the region and owns Club Makokola on Lake Malawi and have acquired the leases on Mfuwe Lodge and The Bushcamp Company in the South Luangwa National Park in Zambia. Giuseppe grew up in Malawi and Zambia and although an accountant by profession, he has spent the last ten years promoting the destination, writing documentaries accompanying groups as well as TV production teams from France, Italy, Spain and South Africa. Giuseppe has decided to break out of the family business and join Africa-Style and House of Wonders. He spends part of the year in Africa and part in Europe. We believe that there is no-one more knowledgeable of the destination. For Giuseppe visitors to Malawi and Zambia are his personal guests to be greeted in traditional African Style : "Ti kulandirani ndi manja awiri" (we welcome you with both hands).
