Zambia Map The Island of Siankaba is a classic small isolated retreat on two densely forested islands in the middle of the mighty Zambesi river near the Siansimba Rapids. It is located 24 miles upstream and just over a half an hours drive from the Victoria Falls and just 30 miles from Chobe Game Park.

On one island are the six guest chalets on the other the restaurant area. The two are linked by a suspension bridge and overhead walkway in the tree canopy.

The islands are located in a private wilderness area, the emphasis is therefore on the scenic beauty of its riverside setting as a place to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the African bush.

The design and landscaping of all the facilities incorporates the use of natural materials that blend in with the feel of the surrounding bush and take full advantage of the beauty of the riverine site

The Lodge has been developed as a luxurious tented camp, sleeping just twelve guests. The chalets are constructed of teak and custom made tenting and are raised well above ground level into the tree canopy with their balconies extending out over the river.

The restaurant area offers beautiful views over the Zambesi and the lodge is renowned for its excellent food and wines and the quality and friendliness of service.

Whilst this is first and foremost a place for chilling out, guests will also be offered a host of activities available from the Lodge:

- Guided birding and tree walks on the main island's nature trail, (bird specials include: African Finfoot, Pel's Fishing Owl, Pygmy Kingfisher, Rock Pratincole and White Backed-Night Heron).

- Game drives to Livingstone's Mosi-O-Tunya National Park where a sighting of a rhino is almost guaranteed or to Chobe National Park, which boasts some of the finest elephant sightings in Africa.
